Mi-Health HIV Partnership

Die Mi-Health HIV Partnership ist ein Kooperationsprojekt von neun euopäischen Organisationen, das die derzeitigen Lücken in der HIV-Versorgung von Migrantencommunities in diesen Ländern in den Blick nimmt. Der deutsche Teil des Kooperationsprojekts wird vom Projekt Afrikaherz des VIA Regionalverbandes Berlin/Brandenburg e.V. umgesetzt. Das Projekt wird von der britischen Africa Advocacy Foundation koordiniert und von Gilead Sciences Europe Ltd. gefördert.

Projektlaufzeit: 01.04.2022-31.03.2023

Projektziele:

Aufklärungsarbeit in den besonders vulnerablen migrantischen Communities der Länder der Partnerorganisationen, einschließlich der Entwicklung von digitalen und gedruckten HIV-Informationen, Bildungsressourcen und Botschaften, die auf die Bedürfnisse von Migranten eingehen - unter Berücksichtigung kultureller, religiöser, sprachlicher, systemischer, wirtschaftlicher und sozialer Barrieren
Schulung von "HIV-Champions" (Multiplikator:innen) aus den Communities, um Aufklärungsarbeit und Engagement in den Communities zu leisten, insbesondere mit der Zielgruppe der besonders vulnerable Migrant:innen (z. B. Migranten ohne Papiere, Sexarbeiter:innen, Obdachlose, LGBTQI+-Migrant:innen usw. )
Durchführung innovativer und gezielter HIV-Testinitiativen als erster Schritt zur Behebung der HIV-Versorgungslücken für besonders gefährdete Migrant:innen
Teilnahme an Gemeinschaftsforen zum Austausch von bewährten Verfahren, Ressourcen und Fachwissen

The Mi-Health HIV Partnership is a community-led initiative that seeks to address the current gaps in the HIV cascade of care amongst migrant communities in 9 high prevalence countries in the European region.

Project objectives:

Community Outreach and Education, including developing digital and print HIV information, educational resources and messaging that address migrant needs - taking into account cultural, faith, language, systemic, economic and social barriers
Training Community HIV Champions to engage in outreach and education efforts equipping them with the key skills and tools to undertake outreach, community engagement and education efforts targeted at diverse vulnerable migrants (e.g. undocumented migrants, sex workers, those
experiencing homelessness, LGBTQI+ migrants, etc. )
Conducting innovative and targeted HIV testing initiatives as a first step in addressing the HIV cascade of gaps in care for vulnerable migrants
Participating in community exchange forums to exchange best practice, resources and expertise
